Dr. Alexander Gibson (1800-1867) was a Scottish Surgeon, writer, and a botanist. In 1847 he was appointed as the First ‘Conservator of Forests’ of the Bombay Presidency and effectively also of India.
This is the first documentary made on the life of this great man and it is filmed in India and the United Kingdom. It shows rare footage of Dr. Gibson’s house, school, college, handwriting, agricultural equipment, books, drawings, etc. It is a must-see for those interested in natural resource conservation and for drawing inspiration from heroes of the bygone days.
